The established EJOFAST® self-drilling screws by EJOT convince with these features. The EJOFAST® product range has been expanded with self-drilling screws with a diameter of 6.0 mm. The JF3-2-6.0 is especially used in the solar industry such as for elevated solar substructures on trapezoidal profiles using short rail system.
It allows you to easily check whether the JC2 Plus 14 is suitable for reuse or not. Use before each installation. If the concrete screw can go through the test sleeve, the product should not be used anymore.
Based on a comprehensive research and development program, the prognosis program ALtra CALC® (see image II) has been developed specifically for this type of screw. On the basis of VDI 2230 many high-capacity calculation programs are available today, but their application range is limited to the calculation of metric screw joints in metallic materials. For the calculation of self-tapping joints the guidelines of the VDI 2230 have only a limited applicability.

Example: With a 100 mm-long anchor which is embedded 70 mm in the substrate, a fastening thickness of up to 30 mm can be achieved. If we assume that the plaster is about 20 mm thick, the attachment can be 10 mm thick.

The clamp load and thus the tensile stress in the screw are limited by the use of sealing washers. Direct outdoor exposure of the fastening point is virtually prevented - the risk of an operational, hydrogen-induced embrittlement (you can find an interesting article on this topic here) is significantly reduced. For sheets thicker than 1 mm, it used to be possible to apply common sheet metal screws, but an increasing reduction of sheet thicknesses, due to the cost saving potentials, prevents this today.
