Flexibility and cost reduction with multi-stage forming at EJOT The variety of possible applications for cold-formed parts made of steel, aluminium or partly copper is virtually unlimited. EJOFORM® products made by the connection and forming expert EJOT are always innovative and customer-specific fastening and design engineering solutions.
These complex conditions are an ideal case for using the EJOT FDS® screw (Flow Drill Screw). Additional processing steps such as pre-drilling, stamping or thread-cutting are no longer necessary.

The fastening technology experts at EJOT recognized the potential of this approach at an early stage and developed a special thin sheet metal screw for a process-reliable assembly in the pre-punched thin sheet. The innovative SHEETtracs® screw has a 45° (30°/15°) asymmetric flank angle and with less material displacement, it creates a stronger female thread in the screw-in sheet.

In order to fulfil these increased technical demands for joints of high-strength and dynamically loaded light metal components, EJOT has optimised the reliable ALtracs® screw. The objective of this improvement was to obtain a self-tapping fastener, with assembly parameters similar to a conventional metric 10.9 machine screw. The metric compatibility of the EJOT ALtracs® Plus is still guaranteed. The metric pitch and the specific 33° thread flank of the ALtracs® Plus leave a larger thread root in the "weaker" female thread of the light alloy.
