When fastening an ETICS, insulation boards are usually attached to the facade with adhesive and then fastened with anchors. The bearing load of the system is carried onto the insulation via shearing forces. High-quality plate anchors installed through the facade guarantee addi-tional contact pressure through their stiff plates. This contact pressure supports the permanent frictional bonding between adhesive and substructure. Through a powerful anchoring in the wall and the contact pressure of the plate, the tension of the insulation releases ("screw clamp effect").
