The EJOFAST® ination JF3 – the new screw generation in the longitudinal joint for the outer shell

In 2011 EJOT will be presenting the new innovative and groundbreaking 2-component steel screw EJOFAST® (JF3-2H-4,8 x 19). The fastener will set new benchmarks in the field of longitudinal joints of thin trapezoidal / corrugated sheets in the metal light weight construction (tI + tII = max. 2 x 0,88 mm). The most common applications can be found in the field of sandwich construction, single and multi-shell roof design in the weathered outside area.

EJOT has access to over 80 years of experience in professional fastening technology. This know-how has been successfully proven by the company from Siegen-Wittgenstein once more.

The initiative for the new screw has come from the user on the construction site. Over the last few years, more and more customers have requested a product improvement regarding installation speed and a chipless fastening of thin sheet metal. They reported recurring complaints, because their customers noticed and complained about visual impairments on the roof mainly due to corrosion caused by not removed drilling chips.

Two elements are the reason for the uniqueness of the new EJOFAST® screw generation. The screw features a fast double-thread which can reduce installation times on the construction site considerably, which saves time and costs. The second feature is the innovative point design which displaces the sheet metal instead of cutting it as it is common for conventional self-drilling screws. By displacing the material in axial direction the screw joint does not produce long metal chips and in this way customer complaints and extra work can be prevented.

The screw point design holds another interesting advantage for the user. Conventional self-drilling screws might slip on the roof when applied, but the EJOFAST® can be pin-pointed and this way optical impairments on weathered surfaces can be prevented.

In addition to the improvements EJOT remains true to the tested free spin zone principle. Due to the broad application range of the EJOFAST® mainly in the area of thin sheet metal tI + tII = 2x0,4 – 2 x 0,88mm the new screw generation features a free spin zone. For that reason the EJOFAST® screw meets the IFBS (Industrieverband für Bausysteme im Metallleichtbau) assembly guidelines, which recommends a free spin zone for reliable thin sheet metal connections (see guidelines from the April 2009 issue).

The EJOFAST® JF3-2H-4,8 x 19 also has a European technical Approval (ETA).

EJOFAST®, fast, swarf free*, secure

*no long metal chips
