This is a result of the latest analysis in the context of the nationwide, industry-overlapping, comparison of businesses called „Top Job“. |
The medium-sized business convinced in the seventh round of the renowned economy initiative with a customised and thus successful personnel management. Wolfgang Clement, the retired Federal Minister of Economics, presented the much sought-after „Top Job“-Gütesiegel to the North Rhine-Westphalians on Friday night during a ceremonial act in the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord.
The mentor of the medium-sized business initiative honoured EJOT in the areas "leadership and vision", "family orientation and demographics", "motivation and dynamics", employee development and perspective", "culture and communication" as well as "internal entrepreneurship".

The EJOT Holding, an expert for innovative fastening technology with 1.375 employees nationwide and a turnover of around 253 million EUROS in the last year, and in particular with their above-average commitment concerning a good balance of work life and private life for their employees. As a family managed company EJOT attaches great importance to the compatibility of work and family: Part-time work, flexible working times and the possibility to take parental leave are a matter of fact. Futhermore a cooperation with the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (Workers'Welfare Organisation), was entered. In family centres the employees can find advice regarding child and elderly care as well as help with debt and drug addictions. If there are to few places available in the local Kindergarten, the company will finance additional places and teachers. For older employees, who are always welcome in the company,special health weekends are provided.
Additionally the management is cultivating a positive business culture: The Top-Management pays attention to a trustful interaction within the company and the appreciation of every individual by the management. In order for them to find out what the employees think regarding their work and their employers, the management conducts an employee survey every two years.
For the award the company had to undergo a strict two-step process from the institute for Leadership and personnel management of the University of St. Gallen. In this process the experts around institute director Prof. Dr. Heike Bruch evaluated the management instruments of the participating companies in the area of personnel and carried out a detailed online employee survey. Prof. Dr. Bruch comments on her analysis: "The results of our analysis showed repeatedly that a strategically aligned personnel management is clearly reflected in the companiess profit". "In plain text: Good employers also have economic success." This trend will be significantly amplified in the future.
"Companies that enhance their attractiveness as employers, will gain competitive capacity." Therefore manager Winfried Schwarz is delighted with the success: Only businesses where personnel enjoy great importance participate in "Top Job". "To be chosen as one of the best 100 employers in medium-sized businesses with such a strong field, motivates our employees and increases our attractiveness for prospective highly qualified employees". A total of 212 companies participated in "Top Job" this year.
All 100 „Top Job“ businesses will be presented in the book „TOP JOB – Die 100 besten Arbeitgeber im Mittelstand“published by Bruch and Clement and also on the website www.topjob.de. The initiative is organised by the Überlinger compamedia GmbH. Interested businesses can apply directly at www.topjob.de, deadline for entries is the 30. of April 2009.
