"Are you still working on your career"" is the provocative question on the invitation leaflet of the EJOT Holding GmbH & Co. KG Bad Berleburg. "Then EJOT is the right place for you - irrespective of whether you are doing a commercial or a technical study course." About 70 students made use of this offer by the company group from Wittgenstein to get to know each other and experienced the exciting world of fastening technology in the Arthur Woll House. On this occasion they could learn something about the interesting development possibilities within the internationally acting EJOT group. |

EJOT manager Winfried Schwarz: "A major part of our next academic generation studied at the University of Siegen, and that is why we wanted to present ourselves in the university and show the interested students that there is not only a huge amount of employment opportunities at EJOT in the fields of IT, controlling, purchasing, logistics, quality management, finite elements, design and deformation, material, measurement, surface and fastening technology, but that there is also the possibility to write diploma theses, seminar papers, bachelor or master theses." |

EJOT cooperates with various faculties of the university and different departments, like the SMI ("Siegener Mittelstandsinstitut" - department for the cooperation with medium-sized companies) and the department of mechanical engineering.
EJOT's partner on this day was the student consultancy Study & Consult, which was responsible for the organisational course and above all for inviting the students.
After the welcome by the chairman of Study & Consult, Benedikt Schweiger, the prorector of the university, Prof. Dr. Grauer, presented the compliments of the rectorate: " The cooperation with local companies is particularly important for the university, but that a local company arranges a company-related day at the university like EJOT does it, is especially remarkable. We are glad about this commitment and hope that this day will be a great success."
In the following company presentation "from the screw factory to the specialist for fastening technology" given by Winfried Schwarz the students were comprehensively informed about the EJOT company group and in which countries and markets it is acting.
Afterwards, the barrister Mr. Joachim Schmidt-Claasen gave a lecture about the topic "perspectives in medium-sized companies". Mr. Schmidt-Claasen, manager of the Entrepreneurship Siegen-Wittgenstein, described very vividly which professional opportunities there are for graduates of the University of Siegen in the medium-sized companies in the region. Schmidt-Claasen: " Flat hierarchies and good career opportunities characterise the labour situation in our companies. Many companies have achieved leadership in their area of expertise, and they want to further develop it."
Subsequent to this lecture 8 EJOT employees from different divisions and departments, partly also former graduates of the University of Siegen, were available for the questions of the students during a snack. Furthermore, the students had the possibility to talk to employees of the human resources department at the fair booth about starting and development opportunities - like for example the trainee programme and the promotion programme for junior staff JuniorPEP. There occured a lot of interesting conversations with very informative contents.
As a result, all persons involved agreed about the fact that the chosen form of company presentation is a modern form of establishing contacts. Now we have to wait and see how many students will come to Wittgenstein for a certain period of time or even permanently.
