EJOSYST® – complex components for individual solutions
|
|
A trend towards increasing complexity of fastening tasks has become visible over the last few years. Especially in automotive manufacture the demands on fasteners have significantly increased. Where "simple screws" would have been sufficient some years ago, multifunctional fastening systems have to be applied nowadays. The individual EJOT fastening solutions do not only fasten the components, they balance manufacturing tolerances as well as thermal influences. They can also fulfil other functions, such as sealing the joint. In the product range called "EJOSYST", synergies of the production techniques for cold-forming, injection moulding and assembly technology are used to develop customer-specific solutions. One competence area of EJOSYST is the development of fastening elements for motor attachments made of plastic, such as cylinder heads, plastic oil pans and air intakes. Here, the term ”TENSIOtec” describes a transport secured "screw-sleeve combination" which, in turn, is set captive into the plastic attachment parts. This sleeve, also known under the name “compression limiter”, has the task of absorbing the pretension force of the joint and thus allowing no damage to the plastic component. |

"TORQtec" describes the motion converting systems in fastening technology. With the use of modern coldforming, very precise motion threads are formed without chipping. In combination with plastic nuts, spindle-nut systems with virtually play-free thread pairings are realised. This technology also enables EJOT to realise worm gears which can be found in the automobile exterior mirror adjustment. Further applications for these innovative and material-saving components can be found in the electrical industry and also in tool and equipment manufacturing. In present-day automotive construction it is increasingly necessary that the fastening of attached parts is adjustable. With the introduction of divided rear lights, used by most significant automotive manufacturers, EJOT took up this topic with new customer-specific solutions. Divided rear lights, where the uniformity of the clearance documents the quality of the end-product, is the reason for the development of these adjustable fastening solutions. Customer-specific rear light adjusting mechanisms are developed according to customer demand, if the adjusting range, the robustness or the economic efficiency of the component is most important. |

Examples for current applications can be found in the Volkswagen models Passat CC and EOS as well as the Almera XL by SEAT. The so-called "3-D adjustment mechanism", a flexible fastening system for the presently largest thermoplastic rear spoiler of the BMW X5, was also developed in cooperation with the EJOT fastening technology experts.
In the area of commercial vehicles and especially for lorries it is necessary that the driver himself is in a position to change the headlight lamps. The EJOSYST engineers therefore developed a multi-functional component for a HELLA headlight, which consists of a special cold-formed screw, multiple plastic parts as well as other functional parts. This system enables the driver to position and fix the headlamp clearly after a light change.
EJOSYST is therefore the term for an intense system cooperation between customer and EJOT for the development and production of complex parts and components for individual fastening solutions. Because of the high innovative complexity and rate of the development the best possible adaption to the operating conditions for the customer is reached.
